PokerStars.fr EPT Deauville: Ruben Visser wordt tweede in €10.000 High Roller – Ruben Visser zet zijn uitstekende run door in de High Roller van de EPT in Deuaville. Tapie bevestigt schulden voormalig Team Full Tilt Pro’s Laurent Tapie heeft gisteren officieel bevestigd dat negentien voormalig Team Full Tilt Pro’s in totaal $16,5 miljoen moeten afbetalen voordat de deal tussen Groupe Bernard Tapie en Full Tilt gesloten kan worden. Tapie is niet van plan om de $16,5 miljoen uit eigen zak te betalen. Een aantal pro’s is inmiddels in onderhandeling over een afbetalingsregeling, maar er zijn er ook die nog niks van zich hebben laten horen. Daarnaast zijn er nog pro’s die zeggen alleen hun deel terug te betalen als het geld gebruikt wordt om de duizenden spelers van Full Tilt Poker terug te betalen. Tegenover iGamingFrance vertelde Laurent Tapie: “As written . . . the argument of the players who say ‘we will refund if the money goes to the players’ is misleading, since they know very well that the players will be refunded only if GBT goes all the way with the takeover, and for that to happen it is necessary that the bulk of money owed by the pros returns to Full Tilt. Otherwise GBT will have to make up the shortfall, generating an additional cost to the overall operation that GBT is not willing to take on, especially as the financial position of Full Tilt, as it appears following the audit, is actually worse than expected. Therefore the claim that this may block the deal unfortunately is true.” Laurent Tapie haalt in zijn betoog hard uit naar een aantal voormalig Team Full Tilt Pro’s. Volgens hem zijn ze heel goed in de schuld verleggen naar anderen, zonder eerst naar zichzelf te kijken. “But GBT will not stop there. We will study closely the exact account histories of the 19 pro players who have never repaid their debts owed to the other Full Tilt players, which amount to US$16.5m exactly. The poker community, and particularly that made up of former Full Tilt players waiting to recover their funds, deserves to know the reality of the behavior of some major poker figures who say they are sorry for the situation of Full Tilt players and want to do everything they can to help them get their funds back, blaming the old management, but also refrain from saying how much they have borrowed from Full Tilt, and lost, playing on the site. Bekijk de video hier onder: Nikolay Evkadov overleden De Russische pokerspeler Nikolay Evkadov is gisteren overleden. Evkadov is een grote naam in de Russische pokerwereld en hij was onder andere eigenaar van CGM, de Russische variant van TwoPlusTwo. Evkadov was ook bekend door zijn prestaties bij de World Series of Poker en andere grote toernooien in de wereld. Het nieuws werd naar buiten gebracht door zijn vrouw Natalie. Wij wensen de familie en vrienden van Nikolay Evkadov sterkte met hun verlies. Bodog CEO hekelt Team Pro’s Nu de voormalig Team Pro’s van Full Tilt Poker steeds verder onder vuur komen te staan, neemt de kritiek op deze werkwijze toe. Bodog CEO Patrik Selin suggereert zelfs dat online pokerrooms met het aantrekken van professionals de markt kapot maken. In een uitgebreid artikel op calvinayre.com vertelt hij hoe sites hun spelers de kans geven tot supersterren uit te groeien, terwijl ze laten vaak door de mand vallen als het gaat om zakelijk inzicht. “Few things in online poker’s short history have remained the same for long including the pecking order on player liquidity which has seen the lead change hands four times in just over 10 years. However, the marketing of ‘professional’ players as brand ambassadors has been a dominating strategy for some time. Such players were billed as having an extra talent that others didn’t possess and then the marketing people turned them into celebrities in the hope the brand would be swept long in their wake. Previous to the recent revelations, even the ever forthright poker forums would take enormous exception to suggestions that the big name pros were anything other than just that. Sadly, as the smoke clears from the horrendous business failures in the online poker industry of the past year it is increasingly obvious that the biggest poker celebrities were in fact unable to pay debts or cheated to ‘win’ their tag as a poker professional. The latest examples of Phil Ivey and Erick Lindgren thought to be owing $4,000,000 each paints a very different picture to that of the clever, aspirational characters the marketers sold us.
